Privacy statement for ZoneCard App Terms of Use

Who we are

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (“SPT”) is the regional transport partnership for the west of Scotland, established under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005 and has its chief office at 131 St Vincent Street Glasgow, G2 5JF. 

SPT are administrators of the ZoneCard ticketing arrangement, and SPT undertakes this role on behalf of the public transport operators who accept ZoneCard tickets (“ZoneCard Participating Operators”).

This statement explains how we collect and use personal information about you in relation to your use of the ZoneCard website application or app.

We collect and use your personal information provided and collected through the app to:

Legal basis for processing information

We process your personal information lawfully and fairly in accordance with data protection laws and any subsequent legislation in force from time to time with respect to the processing of personal information.

Specifically, the processing the personal information that you provide through the app in order for us to understand how ZoneCard holders use their cards is necessary in order for the performance of tasks that we carry out in the exercise of our statutory functions. If you do not wish us to use your personal information in that way then you should not use the app.

What information do we collect about you?

In general terms, we collect and use personal information about you which may include your name, address and postcode, email address and telephone number, together with the information you provide through the App in relation to the journeys that you make using your ZoneCard.

What do we do with your information?

We use your personal information for internal operations including data analytics, research and statistical purposes.

We will only use personal information collected through the app for the purposes set out above.

How long do we keep your information?

Generally, we will keep the information collected through your use of the app for 1 year after which it will be destroyed.
